Socialization - Distraction Training

Our Socialization program is designed to be added in conjunction with any of our obedience dog training programs. This program has multiple benefits for you and your dog. These benefits include advanced distraction work and improved confidence and socialization. This program allows us to work with your dog in public settings in Charleston to teach your dog to respond to commands outside of our controlled training environment. 

We will expose your dog to a variety of distractions in various public settings. We will use their learned commands to reinforce manners and good behavior. Common settings used for distraction training include dog friendly stores, restaurants, parks, and/or beaches.

This program is also designed for dogs with certain behavioral concerns such as lack of confidence, lack of socialization, anxiety, over-excitement, and fearfulness. Positive experiences in public settings help to improve your dog's confidence which builds trust; therefore, lessening anxiety and fear. Building these skills will improve your dog's overall health and well-being. 

If you are considering service or therapy dog work with your dog, this program is required.
